The Lewis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. One of 10 children of Jacob and Lena Meusborn, Frederick William Meusborn was born January 20, 1882, at Greenbush, Warren County, Illinois. He was baptized in the Lutheran church there on January 24, 1882, by Pastor Carl Lotz. While still an infant, he moved with his parents to Platte County, Nebraska, where he grew to manhood. He was confirmed at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in his home community in his youth. On March 14, 1912, he was united in marriage to Ida Jennie Unseld at Cedar Rapids, Nebraska. They established their home on a farm there, where they resided until moving to what later was the Struble farm for many years, just south of Holyoke. Later they lived on farms north and west of Holyoke and then made their home in Haxtun for about two years. They moved to Holyoke in 1954. Mrs. Meusborn passed away on February 12, 1965, and Mr. Meusborn had resided at the local nursing home since March 22, 1966. Surviving Mr. Meusborn are two sons, Arnold F., Van Nuys, California, and LaVern, Fountain, Colorado; four brothers Carl, Haxtun, and Ewald, Walter and Emil, Cedar Rapids, Nebraska; two sisters, Mrs. Hanna Hoffman, Albion, Nebraska, and Mrs. Lena Orshek, Cedar Rapids, Nebraska; nine grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Mr. Meusborn was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Orshek; and two brothers, Herman and Louis Meusborn. (FREDERICK WILLIAM "WILL" MEUSBORN) Fredrich/Fredrick William "Bill" Meusborn) William and Jennie (Unseld. married March 14, 1912 at Cedar Rapids, Nebraska. Two sons, Arnold and LaVern. His parents, Jacob and Lena, left Germany and came to the U.S. with two children in 1881. They were in Fulton Co., Illinois for a while and then in Colfax Co. and Boone Co., Nebraska. The oldest two children were born in Germany, Bill was born in Illinois, and the later children were born in Nebraska. Bill and wife Jennie came to Holyoke in 1917.
