If you figure back the age of death you come up with with March 1, 1850. ∼ Zera Syranis Walrath was born in Jackson County, Michigan, March 1, 1850. He moved with his parents to Illinois, when he was three years of age. In 1871 he came with his parents to Clay County, Nebraska, where they took a homestead on the farm where he resided at the time of his death. Mr. Walrath took a homestead hear his fathers home, later selling it. He was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Moberg, February 12, 1879. To this union were born four children, Mrs. Jennie Phillipi of Edgar, Lee Walrath at home, William Walrath and Winnie Anderson. All were present at the funeral. Mr. Walrath went up on his windmill Sunday morning to repair a broken wire. In some way it is not known just how, he fell to the ground and broke an arm and one leg, his jaw and skull were fractured. he passed away that afternoon. He never regained consciousness. The funeral was held from the home Tuesday afternoon, conducted by the elder of his church, Rev. Mr. Haughey of Fairbury. Burial was at Edgar. He is survived by his wife, four children; one brother, George Walrath of Enid, Okla., and one sister, Mrs. Herman Boynton of Edgar. the family has the sympathy of the neighbors.
