| Description | : | Abbaye Notre-Dame-du-Lac d'Oka (ancien) 1880 - 2009 The Abbey of Our Lady of the Lake is a former Trappist abbey of the Cistercian Order of the Strict Observance, located in Oka (Québec), near Lac des Deux-Montagnes, in the region of Laurentides. In February 2009, the monks left the abbey of Oka and relocated to the Abbaye Val-Notre Dame de St-Jean-de-Matha. Notre-Dame-du-Lac was founded by Trappist expelled by the French anti-Catholic measures of the Third Republic in 1880 their Bellefontaine Abbey of Bégrolles-en-Mauges.
