Description	:	Beech Island Presbyterian Church was organized in 1827. The building was erected in a Greek Revival antebellum style in 1831 with the help of slave labor from neighboring plantations. Woodrow Wilson, the 28th president, accompanied his father, Joseph Wilson, to the church as a boy. The elder Wilson served as pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Augusta and as an elder of the Beech Island church.
