Description : The unmarked cemetery was on the homestead of Capt. Anthony Harrison in the South Tyger River valley. This property passed out of the family. In 1827, over 50 years after the Hampton Massacre, Roddy Smith settled on the land. He was visited by a Hampton descendant who showed Smith the spot where the graves were located and asked him not to clear or plant the area. Smith agreed and left the graves untouched.
