Description	:	Bamboo Creek became a gold mining town during the 1890's before gold was discovered at Marble Bar. The site was first gazette in 1895 and the name is supposed to derive from the dominant plant life on the creek. Gold was discovered by Tom Bypass and his companions and in 1913 a gold battery was established, only to be dismantled by 1962. There now only exists one lonely grave and in 2019 plaques were placed, acknowledging the graves of more than 14 people who were buried at Bamboo Creek.
