Description	:	Opened in 1736, this narrow, small burial ground behind Bath's medieval city wall received those who died at the Bath General Hospital (later the Mineral Water Hospital), opposite. The burial ground was closed and covered over as a matter of public health in 1849, after 238 burials. Entrance is via a flight of steps leading behind the surviving stretch of medieval city wall in Upper Borough Walls, on the corner with Trim street. A plaque high up on the wall at the far end of the burial ground describes the history of the site.
