| Description | : | Im Herbst 1944 wurde ein Teil des Friedhofs St. Georgen Ruhestätte von Soldaten, die in Bayreuther Lazaretten starben. Die Fliegerangriffe im April 1944 forderten viele Opfer, die ebenfalls in St. Georgen beigesetzt wurden. 1951 begann der Volksbund mit dem Ausbau der Kriegsgräberstätte. In den Folgejahren wurden 184 Soldaten aus Behelfsgräbern der umliegenden Landkreise zugebettet. Die Einweihung war am 13. Juni 1954. Heute ruhen dort 992 Kriegstote. |
