Description : Brown Cemetery is located just south of Interstate 80 on the left side of Route 339. When the Methodists, who had been meeting in a barn belonging to Henry Bowman, desired a meeting house, John Brown, one of the earliest pioneers, provided ground for a church and cemetery. The small frame church was constructed in 1816 and lasted until 1831, when the congregation, having increased in size, erected a new building in Mifflinville.
