Description	:	This cemetery was officially used between 1847 and 1925 as Protestant Cemetery vested with the Church of England. Health reasons and impending overcrowding prompted the Church to trasnsfer control to the Council, who later voted to close the cemetery and open a larger one. The "old cemetery" area is now Public Open Space with the nomenclature of Pioneer Park in recognition of its former use as a burial ground for many of Bunbury's early settlers. The current public cemetery now contains rows of pioneer headstones placed side by side on an elevated embankment to recognise those who came from the...
