Description	:	This old graveyard is located on a ridge between the Compton and Clinton properties on North Fork Road (Barnardsville Highway, NC 197 North), the exact site now unknown. It was the burial ground for the Burtons, an early black family of the township. Graves were marked only with field stones and have been dislodged by grazing cattle. The names of the three deceased here are all that are known of. No other burials are to be added to this cemetery.
