It was made in the tradition of the monumental style of Serbian fresco painting of the 13th century, and it features portraits of Dragutin himself, then his wife Catalina and their sons ( Urošic and Vladislav ), as well as his brother, King Milutin (1282-1321). The monastery existed even before Dragutin 's time, and it has been in it since 1219 . year [2] was the seat of Moravica bishops and later metropolitans, who were sometimes called Arilje .
