| Description | : | The Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker Penskaya is an Orthodox church in the southern part of Yaroslavl , in the village of Tolchkovo . It was built at the expense of parishioners in 1689-1690 as a warm temple of the Fedorovsky parish . In Soviet times (until 1987) it functioned as a cathedral church of the Rostov-Yaroslavl diocese. This is the only temple in the old part of the city that was not closed during the Soviet era. |
