Description	:	Originally The Old Burying Grounds for the pioneers and founders of Plantagenet, later taken over by the Anglican Church. There was a mission deputation to Plantagenet Mills in 1864 and land was obtained from Mr. Peter McMartin in the same year for a church in Plantagenet. Church of the Good Shepherd, Plantagenet was built in 1875 and consecrated by Bishop Charles Hamilton on December 15, 1896. The parsonage was much improved by 1897. The Anglican Diocese of Ottawa sold the site of the former Good Shepherd Church, except the adjoining cemetery containing 18 graves, to Joseph Stanislas Gratton for $300 in 1923. The deed says the cemetery must be preserved in perpetuity and that access to the burial ground must be available day and night "on foot, cart, wagon, sleighs, cutters, motor cars and other vehicles and conveyances of every kind and description." It requires the owners and his successors to maintain a fence at least three feet high (0.9 metres) around the cemetery. The cemetery headstones and fence were removed and the original deed disappeared after Henri Lalonde, bought the land in 1944. A marker to memorialize the burials and Church of the Good Shepherd Cemetery has been placed at the Chesser Protestant Cemetery located across the river to the north.
