Description | : | Clarence also known as Clarence Town and Peel Town, located on the Western side of Mount Brown and within walking distance of the Ten Mile Well (about 160 yards from Peel's store) was an early European Settlement on the coast of Western Australia. It was planned by Thomas peel, with the help of various other colonial backers. The first ship of settlers arrived in 1829, and the settlement was abandoned by the early 1830's. Some graves believed to be transferred into the Alma Street Cemetery in more recent times |
