Read More	The municipal cemetery in Sędziszów Małopolski in the old part covers the area of 3.21 ha. Its uniqueness is evidenced by numerous crosses, monuments, tombs and inscriptions, the beauty of which attracts attention. The cemetery is the resting place of both ordinary people and people of merit for society: priests, fighters for a free and independent Poland from various historical periods since the January Uprising, doctors, teachers, artists, political and social activists. The Sędziszów cemetery, established in the 18th century, is the oldest necropolis in the area. Near the cemetery gate, on the main avenue, there is a Classicist chapel. Built in 1844 on a rectangular closed semicircular plan, it has walls divided by shallows with closed windows. Two columns on the front wall support the prominent eaves of the three-sloped metal roof. The tombstones also deserve attention: the Walger family from 1883 in the shape of an edicula (a chapel supported by columns, a sculpture inside) Z. Sędzielowska, who died in 1887 in the form of a broken column with a garland thrown over it, which symbolizes life interrupted by death. The monument is surrounded by a decorative metal fence Ksawery Preka, who died in 1863, the owner of the manor house in nearby Sielec, a deaf-mute painter, author of the book "Times and People" - with the character of a diary. This tombstone is a pedestal placed on a multi-stage base, terminated with acroterions. On it, an obelisk topped with a stone cross, on the main wall, an inscription and the coat of arms of the family. It is worth paying attention to several monuments from the 19th century with cast iron crosses and rich decorative ornaments. Until now, the tombstones of the January insurgents: A. Smoleński - Zagłoba and Władysław Jabłonowski, son of Alojzy - the owner of nearby Olchowa and the November insurgent, have survived. In the western part of the cemetery there is a quarters of soldiers from World War I, who were buried here after a skirmish near Sędziszów Małopolski in 1916. Their number is unknown, it is only known that they were of Austrian nationality. Until September 2007, the cemetery functioned as a parish, and is currently owned by the commune. According to the inventory prepared as of October 15, 2016, there are 4,718 graves in the municipal cemetery.
