Description : Isaac Deane our ancestor became a "lease-holder" on the Philipsburg Manor tract. With 300 acres northeast of Tarrytown , he is described as "one of the large lease-holders of the Manor." It is said that "The earliest record of the Dean family on the Philipse Manor is the appointment of Isaac Dean as one of the Road Commissioners, 1757, which office he held continuously until 1771." He was also Assessor in 1760. His "mark" is recorded as "Justis" in the old Manor book, date of December 25, 1761
