Description	:	This cemetery was established in the early 1870's on land owned by Nancy (Richards) Heskett McMannis. Nancy, her son Seldon Heskett and his family are buried here. In 1887, the cemetery was deeded by Nancy McMannis to the Hymer Cemetery Association, named for the unincorporated community just to the southeast, which was founded in 1872 on land owned by Frank and George Hegwer. It is said that "Hymer" and "Hegwer" are similarly pronounced. The community of Hymer failed to grow and the post office there was discontinued in 1943. After that time... The cemetery is accessed by driving approximately 14 miles north/northwest on Diamond Creek Road out of Strong City, KS.
