Description : The cemetery is located in the grounds of an old derelict church. A plaque in the grounds notes that on 27th July 1651, the day after the Battle of Knockbrack, a section of Lord Broghill's Cromwellian Army under the control of Maxwell, one of Broghill's officers, set fire to the church in which 400 people were seeking refuge. Roger Boyle [25 April 1621 - 16 October 1679], Lord Broghill, was the fourth [second surviving] son of Richard Boyle [The "Great" Earl of Cork]. A preliminary survey of the cemetery was carried out on 20th November 2011. Commandant-General Denis Galvin is buried here.
