Read More	The Faulkner Family Cemetery is near Billingsley, Autauga County, Alabama. It only has four grave stones. It is located on the old Faulkner homeplace. I believe the property has changed hands several times through the years. In 1997, my Aunt Helen Faulner Bain, my mother, Gloria B Summa Faulkner made a trip from Texas to the Faulkner Family Reunion which had been held for years at the Confederate Memorial Park. We met family members that, of course, we had never met before. Our part of the family came to Texas at the turn of the century and Thomas G Faulkner and Samuel F Faulkner, my great grandfather, and grandfater, died by the time my father was 2 years old so the children left, Aunt Helen, Aunt Vivian and my father Wayne D Faulkner never knew much of the Faulkner family. We me Mr. Mills at the reunion and he told us he knew where the old cemetery was. It was a very warm and humid day, and Mr. Mills was an older man, but we and Mr. Mills drove over to the old place. He walked the place out, we were worried about him, and suggested we had looked long enough, but he was determined and pressed on to find the cemetery. I do not know how he did it. Each stone had fallen over, was covered by brush and dirt. It was very hard to see in the woods. But he found it. So we are ever greatful to Mr. Mills. We set our right then to do what we could to restore it in what little time we had left on our vislit. We drove into Clanton and bought chain link fence panels, machetes, hoes and rakes. We went back to the site and cleaned and put up the fence so it would be more easily found and hoped the fence would give it some protection from logging activities etc. We came back by in 2010 but again we could not find it again. We were driving around trying to remember something about where to turn to go into the site. We finially came across Mr. Tindle (sp) He suggested we go to talk to Mrs. Williams at the library. We did and discovered she was a cousin. She suggested we meet with Mr. Bud Harrel. She knew he had been wanting to find it. He was another cousin. We could not find his house so we went to the post office to ask and met Mr. Golson (sp)... and with that name he had to be some kind of cousin. Anyhow, we finally found Mr. Harrel and his family. With his help we got into the right place and found the cemetery again. So here it is. The Faulkner family cemetery. Paula Faulkner Barker
