Description	:	Fort Casper was a military post of the U.S. Army in present-day Wyoming. It was originally established as a trading post and toll bridge in 1859 on the banks of the North Platte River. The post was taken over by the Army and named Platte Bridge Station then renamed Fort Caspar. In subsequently became known as Fort Casper. The fort was abandoned in August 1867.
