Description : The land for the Cemetery was part of the Tara Creek property occupied in 1846 as a lease-hold by Edmond Buckley, an early Gippsland pioneer. On 1st June, 1852 Edmond Buckley purchased the land surrounding his homestead. After a serious illness in 1857, Edmond Buckley had his Will prepared, and in the Will bequeathed 4 acres of his land for a Cemetery, and provided funds for a Chapel.
