| Description | : | Gregory Downs Station was one of the first cattle runs in the Gulf Savannah of north western Queensland, established in 1876 by the Watson brothers . In the late 1800's they built the Gregory Downs Hotel and store near their homestead to service the coach service and post for the mounted police. A small cemetery was established adjacent to the Hotel and today is surrounded by an aluminium pool style fence. In 2013 the small town was renamed from Gregory Downs to Gregory. |
