Description : Located in the Mühlenberg district of Hannover. Built in early February 1945 as a satellite camp of the Neuengamme concentration camp. Operated for two months until it was cleared on April 6, 1945. Approximately 500 prisoners (mainly Polish and Hungarians Jews) from the Laurahütte concentration camp were forced to work here for either the Hannoversche Maschinenbau (Hanomag) or Rheinmetall- Borsig firms that produced antiaircraft weapons. At least 79 prisoners died as a result of the difficult working conditions. The camp was evacuated on 6 April 1945, and the prisoners embarked on an two day march to Bergen-Belsen. ... Read More
