The land was the original property of Henry Carpenter, and 3 of his grandsons had homes nearby which still stand (homes of Juluis, Calvin, & John Samuel Carpenter, sons of Solomon) Henry originally acquired the property on Clarks Creek where he mad his home, from his father Jacob.
