On the county map, this church is called Arbor Chapel. The first gate you come to is the entrance to the cemetery. We walked south and then crossed a pasture fence into another pasture. We reached the site of the old Hobdy homestead. The house is gone, but evidence of human occupation remains. The cemetery is down the hill (west) from the homestead. At one time there was an iron fence which contained 4 graves, but no evidence of the fence or tombstones remain. Owner said that he was told that the people buried there were the granparents of Mattie Hobdy Bennett. She is buried in Fairview Cemetery near Richards, Texas (Grimes County)
