Description	:	Located under the old Dunlap Presbyterian Church which stood at 640 Jordan Street in Shreveport. Capt. William Holmes, a steamboat pilot who helped break up the Red River log jam, owned thousands of acres of land in the Shreveport area. The family cemetery, according to several newspaper reports, was here on the grounds of what became known as the first Dunlap Presbyterian Church. The reports also confirm none of the Holmes buried here were removed to other cemeteries but rather had the church built over the graves in 1900. The church was rebuilt on Creswell Street... The church was rebuilt on Creswell Street and this site abandoned and demolished. The church on Creswell is no longer active as well.
