Description	:	This is the only cemetery in the State of Washington and one of the few in the United States that is exclusive to Muslims. Dr. Mahmood Sarram, a retired Tacoma obstetrician who bought the 8-acre site and donated it to the Muslim community, envisioned it as a place that fulfulled the teachings of Islam and where "future generations could come, pause and reflect." Those interred here are washed, wrapped and buried with the graves facing toward Mecca, per Islamic tradition.
