AMEN (Jewish Prayer for the Holocaust Victims) (Betende) Hände Sie gibt es in vielfältiger Weise Detailansicht der betenden Hände Betende Hände am jüdischen Grabstein An vielen Grabsteinen sind zwei Hände zu sehen, die sich mit den Daumen berühren, der kleine Finger und der Ringfinger sind an beiden Händen zusammen und von den anderen Fingern abgespreizt. Bei diesem Symbol handelt es sich um die segnenden Hände von Männern aus dem Geschlechte Aaron. Aaron und seine Söhne werden im 2. Buch Mose, Kapitel 28 und 29 zu Priestern geweiht. Im 4. Buch Mose (Numeri), Kapitel 6, Vers 24-27 steht, wie diese Hände das Volk Israel segnen sollen. „Der Herr segne dich und behüte dich; der Herr lasse sein Angesicht leuchten über Dir und sei dir gnädig; der Herr hebe sein Angesicht über dich und gebe dir Frieden." Dieser Segen wird im täglichen Morgengottesdienst rezitiert. An Freitagen wird der Priestersegen von den anwesenden Angehörigen des Stammes Aaron, den Kohanim (=Priester) erteilt. Dazu treten sie auf das Podest vor dem Toraschrein, lassen sich von den Leviten die Hände waschen und sprechen gemeinsam dem Segensspruch. Dabei bedecken sich die Kohanim vollständig mit dem Tallit, um nicht abgelenkt zu werden. Unter dem Gebetsmantel werden die Hände mit gespreizten Fingern der Gemeinde entgegengestreckt. Die Hände zeigen also, dass hier ein Kohen, ein Nachfahre der Tempelpriester begraben ist. Kanne und Schüssel Ein jüdischer Grabstein mit einer Kanne Öfter abgebildet an jüdischen Grabsteinen findet man Kännchen und manchmal auch eine Schüssel dazu. Je nach Zeit und Kunst des Bildhauers haben sie unterschiedliche Formen. Die Kanne und die Schüssel sind Symbole für die Nachkommen aus dem Stamm Levi. Die Leviten sind die Tempeldiener und waschen unter anderem auch den Priestern vor dem Segen die Hände. Dazu gießen sie aus dem Kännchen das Wasser über die Hände in die darunter stehende Schüssel. Im 2. Buch Mose, Kapitel 28 und 29, bestimmte Gott Aaron und seine Nachkommen zu Priestern und die Nachkommen Levi im 4. Buch Mose, Kapitel 3, Vers 5 zum Tempeldienst. Auf den Grabsteinen kann man somit sehen, dass es sich bei dem Bestatteten um einen Nachkommen aus dem Stamm Levi handelt. In doing so , the Kohanim cover themselves completely with the Tallit in order not not to be distracted. From under the prayer coat the hands with spread fingers are held towards the community. The hands show that a Kohen, a descendant of the temple priests, is buried here. The Levites are the temple servants and, among other things, they wash the rabbi's hands before the blessing. They cast water out of the pitcher onto the rabbi's hands in the bowl underneath. In the 2nd book of Mose, chapter 28 and 29, God declared Aaron and his descendants to be priests and he ordered the descendants of Levi to the temple service in the 4th book of Mose, chapter 3, verse 5. On the gravestones one can therefore see that the buried was a descendant of the Levi tribe.
