Thomas and Polly are listed in the 1860 census in Millwood Township. From the narrative, it appears that the closest town is Millwood. The description of the burial location for Thomas Hammonds and Mary "Polly" Parke Hamonds is drawn from the "Kinfolks of William Parke and Synah Perry ..." by Margie Ellis Howell, 1967, Section 7-1, as follows with edits and additions: "Polly and Thomas must be buried on the land they owned, southwest of Silex, Mo.... Thomas and Polly are listed in the 1860 census in Millwood Township. From the narrative, it appears that the closest town is Millwood. The description of the burial location for Thomas Hammonds and Mary "Polly" Parke Hamonds is drawn from the "Kinfolks of William Parke and Synah Perry ..." by Margie Ellis Howell, 1967, Section 7-1, as follows with edits and additions: "Polly and Thomas must be buried on the land they owned, southwest of Silex, Mo. Their cabin stood not far from where the present road crosses Null's creek 1-1/2 miles SE of Millwood." From my reading of a map, this location description traces to T50N, R2W, Section 24 at the intersection of Null's Creek (marked on map) and Highway H. "In 1964, one of their descendants who now lives at Silex, and I hunted for their graves. Some of the people in the community, the Nagles, remembered that at one time there were tomb-stones in what is now a corn field, just back of the house, on that farm. From the courthouse records, it is proved that that is the land owned by Thomas and Polly. Apparently the stones were removed by a later owner and perhaps dumped in a ditch." The name of the burial location comes from the "History of Millwood and St. Alphonsus Parish" by Andrew Mudd Millwood, Missouri. November 17th, 1927: "Thos. Hammond, who died in the year 1864, at the age of 80, was buried on the farm known as the John Moore place, now owned [1927] by Hilary Mudd." (The death year 1864 does conflict with reported will signing in 1865 and will proving and settlement in 1869.)
