Description : Now also used as a public park, all the tombstones have been laid flat. Jacob Johnson began the cemetery in East Camden in 1854. It was the first graveyard that catered to middle-class blacks in Camden. Largely forgotten and semi-neglected, the city-owned property in the 3800 block of Federal Street is the final resting place for about 250 to 300 people of African descent.
