Description : This Johnson family burial ground is located on Johnson farmland and is documented in the will of Mary "Polly" Johnson Lamar, died1873. The earliest burials are Janet Johnson, 1773 and her son Thomas, 1778. Thomas received a patent for "Johnsons Delight" in 1742 as show on a map in "Pioneers of Old Monocacy" by Grace L. Tracey and John P. Dern. Based in part on the road crossing and the location of Middletown on the map, it is understood that Hawbottom Cemetery is on "Johnsons Delight".
