Description	:	This burial plot is on land patented from the U. S. Government by Caleb Bethel Powell. The earliest burial was little William W. Jones in 1863, grandson of Caleb Powell. The family burial plot contains five graves of Latha Jane Powell and four of her little grandchildren. The plot is located in the NE corner of the SW 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of Section 8, Township 16 South, Range 22 West. It is about 200 feet south of an east-west oil field road that runs along the north edge of the south forties in Section 8.... Read More	This burial plot is on land patented from the U. S. Government by Caleb Bethel Powell. The earliest burial was little William W. Jones in 1863, grandson of Caleb Powell. The family burial plot contains five graves of Latha Jane Powell and four of her little grandchildren. The plot is located in the NE corner of the SW 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of Section 8, Township 16 South, Range 22 West. It is about 200 feet south of an east-west oil field road that runs along the north edge of the south forties in Section 8. From US 82 west of Waldo, Arkansas, turn north at AR 344 and go about ¾ mile on CR 31 to the oil field road, CR 100, that runs west (left). Go west on the oil field road 1/4 mile and watch for the little road that runs north and south across the oil field road. Turn left (south) 200 feet on this little lane that may be growing tall weeds. The burial plot is to your right at the end of the lane. If the gate on CR 100 is locked, the lane to the plot is only a 1/8th mile walk from the gate on CR 100. The Jones-Powell Burial Plot was cleared of brush and undergrowth in April, 2005. Also, a narrow lane was graded to it by the county. In 2008 and 2009, more clearing was done and a small fence was built and painted.
