Description	:	This is a small family cemetery at the site of the Van Corlaer-Lake Trading Post, built in 1711 and no longer in existence. Arent Van Corlaer partnered with the Lake brothers in the fur trade after his marriage to Maria Lake (Leake) of New Jersey in 1743. The Lakes buried here are of a later generation. Many of the Lakes living on the Van Corlaer/Lake Patent in White Creek took the Loyalist position in the Revolution and had to flee to Canada, their farms then being confiscated by John Younglove and sold, but a few took the American side and...
