The house is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and the Maryland Historic Registry (https://mht.maryland.gov/nr/NRDetail.aspx?NRID=813). It is also known as "The Anderson House." Henry Smith Lankford (b.1783, d.1841) and his wife Nancy Dakes Lankford (b.1793, d.1860) rebuilt Nancy's father's house in the 1830's and it eventually passed from the Lankford family to the Handy family to the Anderson family, who restored the house in the 1950's and are the current owners and occupants.
