Description | : | Liepaja is a small town on the west coast of Latvia. It was occupied by the German Army on June 29, 1941. Almost immediately the Jewish population was identified, rounded up and were systematically shot by EinsatzGruppen and SonderKommando forces. Most were taken to the beach near the port of the town, and others were taken to the city center and the town park, and were shot there. There bodies were cremated.
