Description : UPDATE: On May 29, 1930 during ceremonies held in the nearby armory, the Lilyan Stratton Corbin Memorial Library on East Main Street in Crisfield, Md., was dedicated with a crowd of 300 to 400 people in attendance. This library, endowed by her widowed husband Alfred Oppenheim Corbin, a native of Holland and a banker who took her last name, was closed for the last time May 18, 2016. The Crisfield Public Library across town on Collins Street would hold a grand opening June 4, 2016 and replace the city’s first library. Mrs. Corbin’s urn remains in the former library.
