Description : This cemetery has thousands of graves with many having homemade concrete markers with hand-written inscriptions. The below statement was taken from an upright historical marker posted by the Alabama Historical Society in 2001: In 1907 the American Securities Company opened Lincoln Cemetery for African Americans with the first known interment being that of Queenie Victoria McClananhan Lee who died March 20, 1908.
