Description	:	This cemetery lies in both Scott and Jackson Townships. It was named after Joseph Metzger, one of the early pioneer settlers of the township and owners of the property surounding the cemetery, having purchased property in 1847 from J Cessna. Mr. Cessna had purchased the land from the William Vernon family, the first purchasers of the property in the 1820's. Members of the Vernon family were the first to be buried here.
