| Description | : | Moothedathu Family was established as a result of the Baptization of the Brahmin Namboothiri Family by St Thomas in AD 53 ,Kodungalloor ,India. Eapen, a very smart youngster, established Moothedathu family at Kalloopara in the 9th Century. Eapen was bestowed with the title "THARAKAN" by the Raja of Edappally and came to be known as "Kocheeappen Tharakan" . Kocheeapen Tharakan had four sons and his third son Mathulla is the founder of Kandathil Kudumbam. |
