| Description | : | Um einen neuen Friedhof anlegen zu können, erwarb die Zivilgemeinde 1938 ein Grundstück am Schmittgasser Kirchweg. Während des Krieges verloren in Duisdorf viele deutsche Soldaten ihr Leben und wurden auf dem Friedhof beigesetzt. Hinzu kamen die Fliegeropfer und die in Gefangenschaft in den Lagern auf der Hardthöhe verstorbenen Russen, Italiener und Polen. Für die russischen Soldaten wurde ein größeres Ehrenmal errichtet. Die italienischen Soldaten wurden nach Italien transloziert. So nehmen die Kriegsgräber und Ehrenmale auf dem Friedhof etwas mehr Raum ein als auf anderen Friedhöfen vergleichbarer Größe.
