Church was built in 1860 with donations from the peasants by the architect of the Moscow appanage office P.T. Zavyalov on the site of an earlier church built in 1627 and owned by the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Filaret, the father of the first tsar of the Romanov dynasty.
