Description	:	Although this cemetery is considered part of Evergreen Cemetery across the street, it was called Northside Cemetery because it was on the North side of 8th Street. It was considered to be one of several 'Negro' cemeteries in Ocala at the time. The other two were Tucker Hill and Chestnut (Agnew) on the West side of Ocala. The City of Ocala maintains the cemetery now. There have not been any burials since 2002. This was also a slave cemetery back in the days. The City of Ocala maintains the cemetery now. There have not been any burials since 2002. This was also a slave cemetery back in the days. According to the City of Ocala, there are in excess of 100 interments here. The are only a few markers left and many dips in the surrounding acre. Many name records are not available from the city as they were lost in a fire many years ago.
