| Description | : | A closed for interments cemetery about 10kms down Notown Rd off State Highway 7 in the Grey District. A fairly well kept, fascinating cemetery in a beautiful setting surrounded by bush. As per a lot of the West Coast cemeteries, a lot of graves have been damaged or destroyed by the earthquakes the region had last century. And due to the cost of erecting a headstone then, there are unfortunately more bodies than graves. So this is a rather large cemetery in terms of space, in comparison to how many in situ graves there are, which is only 13. |
