Description	:	Founded 15 May 1951 by Monseigneur Camille André Leblanc, the parish of N-D of the Assomption includes the citizens of Sormany, Nicholas-Denys and Free Grant. On land donated by a parishoner, the church was built by 125 volunteers. Father Louis Gonzague Daigle was the founding priest. Up until its closing in 2007, 11 priests succeeded him. The last residing priest was Father Yvon Sirois. Preaching but also living the gospel, he presided over the parish for 23 years.
