| Description | : | The Oak Tree Union Colored Cemetery of Taylorville, also called the Old Groveland Cemetery was established sometime between 1895 and 1900, on land donated by Elliot Edge. The 1.25-acre parcel of land was specifically designated for use by the local African American families as a final resting place for their loved ones. Originally, it was reported that Mr. Edge kept files on burials in the cemetery, but these were ruined by rat infestation and later burned. Groveland was known as Taylorville until 1922.
