The Reformed and Lutheran Congregations purchased the original 1 and 1/2 acres for the Log Union Church from Jacob Lupfer for $12.00 with additional land being purchased in later years. In June 1798, each able member of both congregations brough one or more suitable logs of white pine, oak, or poplar, and the "raising" took place on Jun 19, 1798.
