Description : The church was constituted 6/24/1826 by Rev Arthur Williams and Chesley Davis. James Hodges served as the first clerk of the newly formed church. The first services were held on 7/22/1826 per church records. The church was built near the creek and remained until the flood in 1850. It had been extremely dry for several months and the crops needed water. The church was having an all day meeting, praying for rain. A severe electrical storm struck with rain,wind and lightning.
