This cemetery is located near the Backgate Community and east of the Oakwood Bayou area. This historic African-American Cemetery has recently been cleared of many trees and brush to reveal the many gravestones that have been obscured for a few years. This cemetery dates back to the early 1800's and through 1900's with several marked and unmarked graves scattered over approximately a three acre area.
