Description	:	The Oscar Lake Lutheran Cemetery Historic Site is located on County Road 96 in Section 18, Holmes City Township. The Oscar Lake Lutheran Church was organized in 1866. A log church was built in 1867 on property donated by Olaf Fahlin. The cemetery was on a knoll south of the church. Many were buried here because it was the only cemetery in the area at the time and was on the ox cart trail that carried travelers through the area. The Oscar Lake Lutheran Church was organized in 1866. A log church was built in 1867 on property donated by Olaf Fahlin. The cemetery was on a knoll south of the church. Many were buried here because it was the only cemetery in the area at the time and was on the ox cart trail that carried travelers through the area. The church was torn down in 1885 and a new one built a mile southeast. Some graves were moved to the new site, but most remain. A stone monument was erected in 1921 in memory of approximately 200 buried there, many of the graves, marked with wooden crosses were lost to time. It has been designated as a historic site.
